Journey on Janna Foundation spreading suicide awareness with two events

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local foundation is hoping to shine a light on suicide awareness in the Chippewa Valley with two events next week.

On May 16, the Suicide Awareness Bridge Lighting will take place from 4 p.m. - sunset at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire.

The public is welcome at no cost and the Bridge Lighting is at sunset. Prior the the lighting, it is packet pickup for pre-registered 5K attendees and registration will be offered for the 5K event on Saturday.

On May 18, the "Journey on Janna" 5K run/walk will kick off at Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls starting at 9 a.m.

The event will also feature awards and raffles. Participants can expect a food truck (Lil Weenie Wagon), free chair massages, silent auction, raffles, a DJ, Journey On Janna merchandise, resource tables, and Enagic Water.
