CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- Chippewa Falls will host the first Bike Rodeo and Glow Ride in Chippewa Falls! Andrea Smith, Director, Cardinal Community Learning Center, CFAUSD, and CFMS Leadership Club students ,Eden Loring and Grace Gugel, sat down with Tyler Mickelson to talk about it. Their Q&A is below.
What is this event?
This is the Cardinal Community Learning Center's first annual Bike Rodeo and Glow Ride. It's a free, fun, family friendly event to help all bike, scooter, and skateboard riders learn about staying safe on the trails and roads.
Where and when is the Bike Rodeo?
The Bike Rodeo is held at Parkview Elementary on Friday, May 17th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. We'll learn all about safety and finish the night with a glow in the dark ride around the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds at 8:30 pm.
Why are you holding Bike Rodeo?
We wanted to give the community an opportunity to tune up their gear and brush up their knowledge on biking and boarding. Summer is coming fast, and we want everyone to enjoy their ride and stay safe while doing it.
What's going to be there?
We're going to have an obstacle course hosted by the Chippewa Falls Police Department, helmet safety demonstrations, bike safety checks, raffle drawings for great bike/board related prizes, glow in the dark decorating station, and so much more!
What should I bring to the Bike Rodeo?
Everyone should bring a bike, trike scooter, or board. Grab glow sticks to glam up yourself and your gear! Each person will get four free glow sticks and a Freezie Popsicle to enjoy while they decorate! We'll have additional glow sticks for purchase but encourage participants to bring their own to really light up their bikes!
Who are some of your partners and event sponsors?
Our sponsors include Mayo Clinic Health System, Marshfield Clinic Health System, Scheels, the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, the Chippewa Falls Police Department, Spring Street Sports, HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital, BMO Harris Bank, and Premium Waters Inc.
Any additional comments?
We are looking forward to a great event, rain or shine, and encourage people to go to the CF school district website to register so we have an idea of how many people to expect.
