If you're worried about your child's next visit to the dentist, Jessica Martin, co-owner of Martin Dental in Eau Claire, has three tips that can help. Watch the video above to learn more. (the tips can also be found below)
1. Encourage your child to play dentist at home. You can practice/play what would happen during a visit so they become more comfortable with the idea.
2. Bring headphones and a comfort item to your visits. Headphones and their choice of music can drown out sounds that can be scary, and their comfort item will put them at ease and can also be a conversation piece to warm up the experience with the doctor/hygienist.
3. Allow your child to accompany you during you visits, so they can see how easy it is and how you handle it.
