If you're not able to adopt or foster a pet, but you're still looking for a way to help pets in need, we have one affordable option that also gives you some perks. Becoming a member of a local pet shelter is a simple process, and it helps the shelter keep its doors open.

For you, becoming a member doesn't have to break the bank.

"I'm here with Biscuit, three to four weeks old and will be available for adoption soon. Today, I want to talk to you about why our membership is so important to us at the humane association. Right now we have about 242 members that help support us. Of those 242 members, they give us about 60 percent of our operating budget, and so we are able to do what we do here because of our members. So if you're interested in helping little animals like Biscuit, the best way you can do it is to become a member our our association. Our members receive several perks or benefits for being a member. You get discounted merchandise here at the shelter, you get a newsletter every quarter that tells you everything going around, and you get the satisfaction of knowing you're helping a wonderful little animal like Biscuit," said Shelley Janke with ECCHA.

ECCHA is offering a special membership right now called a "gift membership" you can give to another person.

For a $30 minimum gift - you get a membership, a bio of a pet you're supporting, and an Eau Claire County Humane Association t-shirt.

"Hi everyone, I'm Robyn at the Dunn County Humane Society with my favorite long-term resident, Donnie, who is available for adoption. We just wanted to talk to you guys a little but about our membership program. So, it's super easy to become a member. It's $15 for seniors, $30 for individuals, it kind of goes up from there. There's just a little form you have to fill out, and then you can get it renewed each year. So the member doesn't only benefit us and our shelter and our animals, but it has a ton of benefits for members themselves. Redeemable couples for free baths and nail trims. If you don't want to use them yourself, you can give them to family or friends, they are shareable. There's a free engravable pet tag, half off a microchip at the shelter, and then there's discounts for a lot of the businesses around Menomonie as well. So if you are interested in a membership, feel free to give us a call," said Robyn with DCHS.

"At the Clark County Humane Society we offer an annual membership for just $20 per year. All the membership fees we receive go directly to care for the animals at the shelter. By joining, you'll receive to issues of our fabulous 'Great and Small' newsletter per year. But the best part is knowing you have helped to provide the love and care all the cats and dogs at CCHS need," said Cheri Wagner with CCHS.
