WAGNER TAILS: Brodie and Duke

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY & MONROE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- If you're looking for a playful pup, we want you to meet Brodie.

He's a two-year-old mixed breed dog who loves to play fetch with staff at the Eau Claire County Humane Association.

Brodie is all about getting your attention, which sometimes means he will jump up and knock into you.

He just can't contain his excitement to see you!

Staff at ECCHA say Brodie would do best in a home without cats or small animals.

This happy guy wants lots of attention, and he can be selective of his new friends.

If you're interested in adopting Brodie and you have another dog in your home -- they would need to meet first to make sure they'll be happy together as playmates.

Duke has an incredible story to share with you.

Other than a slight limp now while he's chasing after toys, you wouldn't know the pain this guy has gone through.

Duke suffered a severe trauma, shattering one side of his body.

It's unclear the cause, but the trauma required multiple surgeries to reconstruct two of his legs.

Those surgeries were followed by four months of rehabilitation.

This one-year-old German shepherd mix never gave up and stole the hearts of those he met during the healing process.

Now living in a foster home through Last Paw Rescue, Duke loves cuddle time and playing.

He's approximately 50 pounds and likes other dogs who don't play too rough.

Duke is looking for a home without young children where he can live a life of leisure, and we think he deserves just that after everything he's been through.
