CLARK & CHIPPEWA COUNTIES, Wis. (WEAU) -- With two weeks until Christmas, Coonie is already dressed for the occasion!
Coonie is a five-year-old pit mix.
She came to the Clark County Humane Society after her owner passed away.
Staff at CCHS say Coonie was very sad when she first arrived at the shelter, but with a little time, treats, and love -- her mood is greatly improving.
Coonie already has some training, and she's described as gentle and an all around gem of a girl.
All she wants for Christmas is a new family to love her.

Mate is a nine-week-old kitten and a natural explorer.
He and his brother (who's an orange kitten) arrived at the Chippewa Humane Association as babies and had to be bottle fed for four weeks!
Staff at Chippewa Humane say Mate's purr can be heard across the room.
He does well with other cats, dogs, and with children.
Will you make this little guy your First Mate?
