WAGNER TAILS: Tessa and DCHS puppies

DUNN & BARRON COUNTIES, Wis. (WEAU) -- Tessa was left on a back road with her puppies.

While living on the street, Tessa's health declined to skin and bones while she worried more about her pups than herself.

She's now in great health and ready for a fresh start!

All of her pups have found homes, and it's time for Tessa to start her next chapter as well.

Staff at the Humane Society of Barron County say Tessa does great with children.

Something to keep in mind... Tessa is selective about other dogs and tends to prefer males more than females.

Tessa is very sweet and she keeps a tidy kennel.

She may just be the member your family is missing.

Eight is great! Especially when it's a litter of eight puppies who are eight weeks old!

There are five girls -- Perdita, Corky, Dot, Penny, Jorah -- and three boys -- Puddles, Rolly, Pongo.

These mixed-breed cuties are available for adoption through the Dunn County Humane Society... you must fill out an application.

While puppies are a ton of fun, they're also a lot of work and a big commitment.

To make sure these guys and gals grow into wonderful pets, they will require proper socialization and training.
