AG candidate Josh Kaul calls out Schimel over Affordable Care Act lawsuit
A candidate for Attorney General in Wisconsin is calling out the current Attorney General Brad Schimel over the Affordable Care Act.
Schimel has joined, with the Texas Attorney General, in a lawsuit to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.
Candidate Josh Kaul stopped in La Crosse Wednesday to express concern over Wisconsin's participation in the lawsuit.
Kaul says that taxpayer dollars are being used in the lawsuit and more than 2 million Wisconsinites could lose their health insurance.
"We just shouldn't have people who are unable to have access to health insurance coverage because of a pre-existing condition and what we certainly shouldn't have is our Attorney General using our tax dollars to fight to take protections away from Wisconsinites," said Kaul.
WEAU has reached out to the Office of the Attorney General for comment and have not heard back.
