ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Altoona athletic complex project received a milestone donation from Prevea Health.
The joint news release, sent by Prevea Health and the School District of Altoona, made the announcement Thursday afternoon.
The district says the donation will allow the construction of the complex to begin at Altoona High School. The total cost of the new sports complex is estimated at $3.2 million. With $1 million now raised, the remaining $2.2 million needed will come out of the district budget.
The sports complex will include new synthetic turf for a football and soccer field; an 8-lane track with nine sprint lanes; high jump, pole vault, long/triple jump, shot put and discus facilities; 1,673 capacity bleachers; an entrance plaza and ticket area; and concessions, restrooms and storage space.
Construction will begin this spring.
