EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- If you've been driving around Eau Claire you may have noticed a number of vehicles missing a side mirror.
With snow banks causing narrow roads, Superior Auto Body says it's seeing about a 50-percent increase in the number of vehicles coming in for side mirror repairs.
The shop says mirror replacements cost an average of $200-$500 apiece. If it's a truck, it can be upwards of $1,500.
Damage appraiser Suzen Hong said, “I think that's attributed to the fact of a lot of hit and runs. People can't see each other especially going around those corners that have snow on each side, you just have a collision.”
The auto body shop says to avoid collisions make sure to be careful around blind driveways. You're advised to creep up slowly to make sure other vehicles aren't coming. It's also a good idea to fold in your side mirror if you're parked on the street.
