Azura Memory Care breaks ground on new facility

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Azura Memory Care hosts a groundbreaking ceremony for its new facility.

It took place Thursday afternoon on Bullis Farm Road in Eau Claire.

Azura's new campus will include two memory care households, which can provide services to 48 people.

It will feature private rooms, specialized spa and salons, and outdoor courtyards designed to support people with memory loss.

Azura has been serving the community for more than 20 years.

"When you walk in you literally walk in and feel like you're part of a home that serves a family. When you walk into the living room, there's a den, there's a beautiful dining room, sun room and it's all the heart of the home. The resident rooms are off to the side and they're all purposely designed those that are living there," said Paula Gibson with Azura Memory Care.

The hope is to open the new campus by September 2019.
