EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Azura Memory Care celebrated raising more than $100,000 for Alzheimer’s research.

Wednesday, Azura held their Confetti and Cake event to celebrate the money raised during its annual city-wide thrift sale. The money was raised with help from Holiday Vacations over 11 years for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Greg Barnes, with Holiday Vacations, says he hopes the money can help find a cure for Alzheimer’s and dementia.

"It's such a worthy cause, and there is no known cure and we know so many people that have dementia, and it's not just the people with dementia it's their families, their caregivers, it impacts all of us,” said Barnes.

Over $7,000 was raised at the city-wide thrift sale earlier this month, and Holiday Vacations donated an additional $10,000.
