NEW INFORMATION: Summit St. fire causes $70K in damage

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A fire in the 1000 block of Summit Street in Eau Claire caused an estimated $70,000 worth of damage, according to Eau Claire Fire and Rescue.

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. Friday night. When crews arrived, they found smoke and fire coming from the home. According to Eau Claire Fire and Rescue, the main body fire was knocked down; however, crews stayed on scene throughout the night to monitor conditions.

One person inside the home was treated on scene, and no other injuries were reported.

The fire is still under investigation.
