MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- A Federal Grand Jury is indicting a Barron County woman for wire fraud and tax crimes.

63-year-old Deborah Marcellus of Turtle Lake is charged with seven counts of wire fraud and four counts of filing false income tax returns from 2012 to 2015.

The indictment also accuses Marcellus of devising a scheme to defraud St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake when she served as the director of development from January 2011 to April 2017.

She's accused of misappropriating more than $818,000 from the church's bank accounts and using the funds for her own personal benefit.
