Boyceville woman dies in Dunn County crash

DUNN COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- One person is dead after a head-on crash in Dunn County.

It happened just before 1 p.m. Monday, February 12 on Highway 79 in Sherman Township - near Boyceville.

According to the sheriff's office, it appears the driver heading north crossed the center line and hit the southbound SUV head-on.

Deputies said the driver of the SUV, a 54-year-old Boyceville woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her 19-year-old passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies said the 47-year-old man driving the northbound vehicle was taken to a local hospital.

Deputies said at this time, he is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
