Burger King is teaming up with the VFW Unmet Needs program once again to raise money for veterans and their families, and today is the last day of the initiative.
According to the VFW, Unmet Needs helps America’s military families who have run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other military-related activity or injury.
The program provides grants of up to $1,500 to assist with basic life needs, with no re-payment required.
Burger King customers can contribute at their local restaurant. In exchange for a donation, customers will get a food coupon.
Organizers say more than five million dollars have gone through the unmet needs program from the effort in Eau Claire.
