LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- All traffic on Business 53 will be detoured around much of the highway’s construction zone overnight Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to allow crews to install traffic signals at three intersections along the highway.

The detour will begin at 10 p.m. each night and end at 6 a.m. the next morning. The short detour will take northbound traffic off Business 53 with a left turn onto Hogarth Street, then right onto County Highway OO, then right onto 27th Avenue, then left back onto Business 53. The southbound detour will be on the same route.

Signals will be installed at 115th Street, the new intersection at 21st Avenue, and at 27th Avenue near ShopKo. The signals will not be functional until traffic is restored to all four lanes in the construction zone. The entire 2-mile reconstruction project from Highway 124 to Melby Street is expected to wrap up in mid-November.
