Chippewa Falls High School hosts STEAM event

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local event is connecting Chippewa Falls students to careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

The STEAM open house took place Tuesday night at Chippewa Falls High School.

Organizers said the event is to highlight the work of the students along with showing the kids STEAM-related careers in the Chippewa Valley.

"There's a lot of manufacturing in this area and that of course takes STEAM as well. Having the kids just recognize all of the different careers that are here including things from Cray, TTM, SGI as well as all the manufacturing businesses," said STEAM Director and teacher Nick Gagnon.

Organizers expected one thousand people.
