CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) One local high school football team is thanking veterans for their service.

Friday night veterans received free admission to the Chippewa Falls football game at Dorais Field.

The Cardinals also partnered with the Hands Foundation to collect winter clothing and boots at Friday’s game for homeless veterans.

Meanwhile, during the game a bucket was passed around for one minute to collect as much money as possible.

Organizer Nikki Anderson says, “All of the money that is earned during the miracle minute is spent locally at Mason Shoes. We have an arrangement with them to get Sorel boots with them at a discounted price.”

Organizers say the total from Friday’s miracle minute ended up being $2,145.00.
