EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A Chippewa Valley organization holds a fundraiser to help those in the criminal justice system adapt back into the community.

Chippewa Valley Ex-Prisoners Organizing (EXPO) held an event at First Congregational Church in Eau Claire.

The organization provides resources for people who are re-building their lives after being incarcerated.

Organizers say part of the money raised will help EXPO staff attend a leadership training.

They say they're always looking for more community support.

"We hope to gather as much information from people locally and landlords and other places for resources and more friendly to those who are needing a second chance in their life," said Stacey Acuna with Chippewa Valley EXPO.

Organizers hope to raise more than $3,000 from the event.
