Chris Kroeze makes top eight on "The Voice"

BARRON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Top eight! Barron Native Chris Kroeze is another step closer to "The Voice" finale in two weeks.

Thanks to viewer votes, he's once again advancing on "The Voice."

At the top of the broadcast, Carson Daly said Kroeze was the most streamed Voice artist on Apple music overnight.

Monday night, Kroeze performed "Callin' Baton Rogue" by Garth Brooks.

Before taking the stage, Kroeze talked about how he relates to the song and staying in touch with his family while on the road.

"I think anyone who's toured and had to be away from their family can relate to this song. When I'm on the road, I stay in touch with my kids on Facetime quite a bit. Bella, my step daughter, she's super excited.
My son, Finley, he doesn't really know what's going on. He just knows I live in the phone now," he said.

"America's fallen in love with Chris. He's been the dark horse and now that we're getting close to the finale, people are realizing this guy is a serious threat to everyone in the competition," said Blake Shelton.

This week, Team Blake went bowling to spend some time together outside of rehearsals and let loose a little bit.

Kroeze will perform again on Monday, December 10.
