UNITY, Wis. (WEAU) -- One man is dead after he was run over by his own truck.

The Clark County Sheriff Gregory Herrick says Alfred Weideman, 71 from Unity, has died after being run over by his truck on Nov. 15.

Deputies say Weideman was dropping yard waste off at the Unity Village Dump site when his truck began to roll backwards. He attempted to jump back into his vehicle when he fell and was run over. Investigators say it was reported that Weideman was having transmission problems with the truck before the accident.

Weideman was transported by helicopter to a hospital where he died on Dec. 2.
