GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A federal agency is providing special containers to help law enforcement across Wisconsin clean up meth labs.

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel said Monday six methamphetamine chemical storage containers will be placed across the state.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is proving the containers. Schimel says the containers are aimed at helping reduce the time and money local law enforcement spend on cleaning up meth labs and at making communities safer after a lab is found.

On average, the containers are estimated to reduce meth lab cleanup costs by about 90 percent.

The containers will be placed in Barron, Brown, Dane, Eau Claire, Marathon and Vernon counties. Instead of having to guard meth lab sites, law officers will be able to transport the dangerous waste to the nearest secure container.
