Crews respond to fire at Chippewa County business

TOWN OF LAFAYETTE, Wis. (WEAU)-- A building that housed a business near Lake Wissota was damaged by fire early Friday morning.

The Chippewa Fire District says it responded to the fire in the Town of Lafayette just after three a.m. There was heavy fire coming from the north end of the building and the roof was partially collapsed.

The building housed BD Roycraft Excavators. No one was hurt in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.

The fire department also says there is no damage estimate at this time but the building in will likely need to be replaced.
