We now know the date of the third Half Moon Dragon Boat Festival.
On Friday, Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire announced in a news release that the event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017. The event will include up to 52 teams racing on a 250-meter course on Half Moon Lake in Eau Claire. Dragon boat racing originated in ancient China, and involves teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steersperson working in concert to propel the boats.
The event benefits and promotes hospice services, which provide care for people at the end of their lives. Online registration goes from March 1-March 31. You can find more information by clicking on the link on the right side of this story.
