Dead body discovered in Eau Claire parking lot

Eau Claire Police is looking into the cause of death of a man found inside a parked car Monday morning.

The body was discovered in a parking lot at the intersection of Hastings Way and Highland Ave. Officers were on-scene for roughly an hour before the car was removed.

Deputy Chief Matt Rokus told WEAU 13 News they aren't saying if the death is being viewed as suspicious or natural.

He said an autopsy on the dead body will be performed Tuesday morning in Madison. The car has been securely impounded.
