EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local dance studio is leaping out of their old space and moving into a brand new building to celebrate 20 years of dance in the community.

Diamond School of Dance is building a new facility on the lot next to HOM Furniture in Eau Claire.

The new building will be more than 12,000 square feet, which is nearly three times as big as their current space.

Diamond School of Dance serves more than 500 students taking one thousand classes, 7 days a week.

"That's been our biggest thing, we are about being more than just great dancing and so we are hoping that this studio is a great hub of positive action in our community, we're hoping that the kids can just come and have more space to be and hang out, build relationships and be inspired to be the best that they can be,” said Alicia Knopps, owner.

The grand opening for the new building is scheduled for August of 2019.
