EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (RELEASE FROM CITY-COUNTY HEALTH DEPT.)-- One week left before open enrollment for 2018 health plans on comes to an end. With the shortened enrollment period, it is critical to take action now. You do not want to miss the savings and benefits of having insurance.

Some of the savings include premium tax credits, cost assistance for those with low incomes, and out of pocket, expenses associated with an injury or illness. Moreover, if you have insurance and utilize plan providers your cost will be lower and you would have less out of pocket expenses. For instance, if an accident occurred and you have no insurance, you would be responsible for all emergency services, labs, and medications, which can be costly.

The benefits of having insurance not only help you financially, but also help you to maintain your health. Benefits include free preventative services such as counseling, screenings, and vaccinations. In addition, medication costs are affordable when you have insurance. Benefits also extend to children to include dental and vision care.

To take advantage of the savings and benefits, you first have to enroll. There is help available if you have questions. To learn who in the area can help you go to and enter your zip code.
