ST. LOUIS (CNN) -- Two firefighter paramedics took matters into their own hands when icy conditions stranded their ambulance, pushing their patient the remaining mile to the hospital in St. Louis.

The photo, showing two Missouri paramedics going above and beyond the call of duty is going viral.

Shaylor Taetz and Jon Stillpass were called to the scene of a bus accident in Maryland Heights. They needed to get the driver to a hospital for evaluation, but when slick conditions disabled their ambulance, they had to come up with a new plan.

The pair strapped extra traction on their boots and pushed the bus driver roughly a mile uphill.

Thanks to their efforts, the driver was able to get to the hospital safely. While the men have been enjoying the reaction to their efforts, they say it's all in a day's work
