EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)--A former daycare worker charged with sexual assault of a child, pleads not guilty.

Tyler Thompson, 25, made the plea in Eau Claire County court Thursday.

Thompson worked at the Learning Tree Child Care Center in Eau Claire for at least three years. According to the criminal complaint, a five-year-old girl reported to her parents she was touched by a man she identified as "Mr. Tyler" sometime last year.

The child was interviewed by a representative with the Child Advocacy Center and information gathered led to Thompson’s arrest in October.

Thompson's next court date is scheduled for April 12.
