Free HIV testing for World AIDS Day

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Free HIV testing is happening at Scooters Bar in Eau Claire Thursday night.

It’s being held by the Eau Claire City-County Health Department and the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.

It starts at 8:30 p.m.

The department says testing is free and will be offered to people that have never been tested, people with a history of injection drug use, men who have sex with men, and anyone who has had unprotected sex with multiple partners.

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department says more than 7,900 people are estimated to be living with HIV in Wisconsin, including an estimated 1,000 people who are unaware of their HIV infection.

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Free testing is also being offered at UW-Stout Thursday.

It's happening from 1 p.m. -4:30 p.m. in the Glass Lounge of Merle M. Price Commons, 1110 S. Broadway St.
