Gubernatorial candidate Mike McCabe visits Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Community members had an opportunity to meet gubernatorial candidate Mike McCabe Sunday during a campaign stop in Eau Claire.

The event drew local supporters to Phoenix Park to talk to the candidate face-to-face.

“It is such an incredible journey and such an amazing privilege to be able to travel the state and be invited into so many people's backyards and living rooms,” said McCabe.

McCabe says he's traveled more than 90,000 miles across the state since starting the campaign.

He says his candidacy is all about making a difference in the way government works.

“This is really about is trying to overcome money power with people power,” said McCabe.

McCabe is among eight democrats running in the August 14th primary.

The winner goes on to face Governor Scott Walker in the November general election.
