How spring cleaning can decrease stress

SPARTA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Spring is here, and health officials say this could be a good time of the year to get in a better mental state.

Officials with Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare say spring cleaning can be a good time to clear your mind.

They say it can foster creativity, provide a sense of accomplishment, and motivate you as we head into warmer weather.

"It can improve your mood and decrease stress by removing excess clutter and unfinished projects in the area can help not only organize your environment but help you feel more at ease in your environment," said Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare Family Nurse Practitioner Heidi Stenerson.

Spring cleaning does not have to just be your house and yard.

It can also be done with your money, technology and body.
