A motorist suffered minor injuries after a large ice chunk flew off the semi in front of them and landed on their vehicle's windshield.

The Minnesota State Patrol shared several photos of the incident on its Facebook page, saying the incident happened Monday morning on Interstate 694 near Highway 36.

The woman, behind the wheel of the vehicle that was struck by ice, suffered minor injuries. She said she and her daughter weren't even in the same lane as the Fed Ex semi truck and when she saw snow and ice starting to fly off the top, she pulled back. She shared the aftermath of the incident in an email to our affiliate, KARE 11.

Authorities say the driver of the semi truck was not cited but the company will cover repair costs.

They remind all motorists that it is your responsibility to clear off any ice or snow before hitting the road.
