Local church celebrates re-opening after fire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- After rebuilding from a fire in 2016, one local church is celebrating its new building.

Plymouth United Church of Christ in Eau Claire held a dedication service Sunday afternoon for the new building.

After the fire two years ago, the building had to be razed.

The church was temporarily using Grace Lutheran's sanctuary while theirs was being rebuilt.

Community members who are not a part of the congregation also attended in support of the church.

“It's all very exciting,” said Pastor David Huber. “It's been a long two years going through the process…and now we're here.”

Huber said it was meaningful to see so much support for today's dedication.
