EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Some of the area’s biggest musicians met at DeLong Middle School on Monday to talk with students about a career in the music industry.

Sean Carey and Chris Messina of Bon Iver, along with musicians Ben Lester and podcast curator Neal Sipress were all part of the panel.

The purpose of the visit was to let students ask questions about going into the music industry, as well as academic and career planning tips from the panelists.

“When I was their age, music was starting to become a huge part of my life,” Carey said to WEAU 13 News on Monday. “I got my drum set when I was in 6th grade and I just played on it every day after school.

Tune into Tuesday’s edition of “Hello Wisconsin” as WEAU’s Noelle Anderson will have reaction from students who had the opportunity to play for the panelists.
