LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- As the community continues to mourn the loss of three Girl Scouts and one mother last weekend, other troops in the region are honoring their memories.
Community members and Girl Scouts gathered in La Crosse Saturday afternoon to remember those who lost their lives last weekend.
The group held a candlelight vigil and walked around with signs in the memory of the four lives lost.
For troop leader Natalie Casper, it was one small way to give back.
"We could send cards, we could extend our condolences but we really wanted to do something that would involve the girls and bring attention or awareness to the situation. What they were doing, how brave they were, how brave they have been as they continue going on," said Casper.
Other vigils have been planned throughout the state, and the country, to honor the three girls scouts and one mother who lost their lives.
