EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Nearly 2,000 lights are brightening up the healing garden at HSHS Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Eau Claire.
As a part of the annual love lights celebration, community members can purchase a light in honor of a loved one. On Thursday, there was a short service in the chapel and then it was time to go outside to the healing garden to enjoy the lights.
The colorful lights will continue to shine all holiday season as a way to honor loved ones and reflect on the past year. "It's just a very meaningful event for people to honor particularly those who have died during the past year, people come to the chapel and they tell us over and over how meaningful it is, especially during this season,” said Jan Geide, the president of the partners of HSHS.
Each of the lights cost $5 to purchase and the funds go to help benefit projects at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital.
