BARRON, Wis. (WEAU) -- A man has been taken into custody after a domestic abuse incident in Barron County.

Jason Rush, 35 of Haugen, was taken into custody for battery, false imprisonment and recklessly endangering safety.

Police say he put a 45-year-old woman in the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, on Saturday.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Office is using this incident as a reminder to report domestic violence. Chris Fitzgerald told WEAU 13 News in a press release that even one time is too many and the office is asking everyone to report domestic abuse incidents. Fitzgerald says domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused or denied.
