Man charged after high-speed chase in Chippewa and Eau Claire Counties

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) The Black River Falls man arrested after a high speed chase which crossed county lines in Western Wisconsin is charged Wednesday in Chippewa County Court.

Corey Sprinkle, 32 is charged with attempting to flee an officer.

The Lake Hallie Police Department says the chase started on July 19 after a report of a theft at a home. When police arrived the suspects were in the backyard and took off.

The chase started in Lake Hallie then went to Highway 53 and onto I-94 in Eau Claire County. It reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour according to the criminal complaint. It says sprinkle's vehicle crashed and he was taken into custody. The complaint says Sprinkle admitted to using meth and heroin earlier in the day.
