Man dies in St. Croix Co. crash

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in St. Croix County.

It happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of County Highways I and E, north of Hudson.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Pedro Vera Cornier of Somerset was going north on I when he stopped at a stop sign and continued through the intersection. Anthony Herbst, 25 of Houlton, was driving eastbound on E and collided with Vera Cornier's vehicle. Deputies say Vera cornier died at the scene. Herbst had minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
