Eau Claire Memorial falls to Hudson 7-1 in State Hockey Championship

MADISON, WI (WEAU) Eau Claire Memorial's ninth straight trip to the WIAA State Hockey Tournament ended with a loss Hudson 7-1 as the Raiders repeat as state champions.

Cole Danielson was the star for the Raiders, as he recorded the hat trick scoring a goal in each period of the game.

Eau Claire Memorial's lone goal came from Max Savaloja in the first period to tie the game up at 1-1.

Hudson took control of the game late in the first period when Ben Lundeen gave the Raiders the 2-1 lead. In addition to Lundeen and Danielson, the Raiders got goals from Peyton Hanson, Joe Martin and Jack Flattum.

Hudson becomes the first team to repeat as champions since Superior won three straight from 1994-96.
