Tuesday, a local company was recognized as one of the first Wisconsin businesses to be contracted for Foxconn construction.

Red Cedar Steel Erectors of Menomonie will work on phase one of area one of the Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park’s multipurpose building.

The Dunn County company will erect the steel on the building in Mount Pleasant, now under construction.

A total of 154 Wisconsin companies from 68 communities and 26 counties have been awarded work related to development of the Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park.

"We're thrilled to be out at Foxconn and be there upfront early in the project, one of the first; really this is one of the first steel erectors to go on site so we're really excited to be there and be part of the project,” said Peter Hayes, president of Red Cedar Steel.

The president says Red Cedar will be on site for about one month.
