EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Morrie's Mazda brought more smiles to community members as part of its 60 Days of Giving.
Two recipients were awarded brand new cars and gas for a year.
Sarah Sturtz was nominated by employees at Western Wisconsin Urology to receive the special surprise Thursday.
Sturtz’s oldest daughter lives with an aneurysm and has had heart surgery. Her other daughter was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer.
With chemo in Rochester starting, transportation will be ongoing and Sturtz says she could really use a glimmer of hope.
"This car will ease my mind getting back to Rochester. I'm not sure how long my other car would last. When I would take to different mechanics about things, they weren't sure with the miles that were on it would be worth fixing,” said Sturtz.
Thursday, Kirsten Schroeder was also awarded a car after being nominated by her mom, Patricia.
She says her daughter commutes four hours to Minnesota to attend school for addiction studies. Kirsten also overcame drug and alcohol addiction seven years ago, and as a single mom graduated from UW-Eau Claire last spring.
