TOWN OF WHEATLAND, Wis. (WEAU) -- A flood-induced mudslide caused a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Wheatland on Thursday night.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reports a man driving with three passengers in his vehicle was traveling on Highway 35 when a mudslide came down from a hill and hit his car.
The sheriff’s office said a man driving a dump truck toward the vehicle saw headlights ahead of him and tried to slow down but couldn’t avoid the mud and debris on the road, crashing into the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was treated and released at the scene, refusing any further medical attention. All three passengers and the driver of the dump truck were uninjured, and everyone was wearing their seat belts.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
