EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (RELEASE FROM EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT)-- While many roads that were closed last night due to flooding in
Eau Claire County have reopened to traffic, the following roads are closed until the water recedes, and the repairs can be completed:
•County Highway DD (Wilson)
•County Highway Q west of XX (Ludington)
•County Highway G near Channey Road to County Highway DD (Ludington)
•County Highway H from Forest Road 3 to Horse Creek Road (Bridge Creek)
•County Highway D from 140th Avenue to Stelter Road (Ludington & Lincoln)
•County Highway QQ at the intersection of County Highway
The following roads have partial lane closures and are restricted to one direction traffic until the water recedes, and repairs can be completed:
•County Highway P west of 67th Avenue (Seymour)
•County Highway UN west of Vance Road (Seymour)
The Highway Department has advised there is water over the roadway and has placed barricades at each end of the closure.
Do not drive into flooded roadways or around barricades, turn around, do not drown! Water may be deeper than it appears and can hide many hazards. A vehicle caught in swiftly moving water can be swept away in a matter of seconds. As little as 12 inches of water can float a car or small SUV, and 18 inches of water can carry away large vehicles. During a flood, water levels and the rate the water is flowing can quickly change. Remain aware and avoid flooded roads at all costs.
