NWS confirms 16 tornadoes in MN, western Wisconsin during Sept. 20 storms

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The National Weather Service says the tornado count from the September 20 storms in southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin now stand at 16.

The Weather Service confirms two tornados touched down in western Wisconsin. One touched down in Prairie Island Minnesota and continued to Diamond Bluff Wisconsin, with winds reaching upwards of 75 miles an hour.

A second tornado touched down in Ellsworth, where the Weather Service says a narrow path began and continued northeast for around two miles.
