NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (WEAU) -- A New Richmond man is facing several charges - including wire fraud, environmental crimes and obstruction of justice.

48-year-old Lloyd Robl is charged with 17 counts.

The grand jury indictment accuses Robl of operating an asbestos abatement business in New Richmond where he devised a scheme to defraud customers from 2011 until 2016.

The indictment also charges that from 2013 to 2016, Robl knowingly released a hazardous pollutant into the air by burning asbestos-containing material at his home in New Richmond, in violation of the clean air act.

Robl is also accused of concealing business records during a federal grand jury investigation.
