A new emergency preparedness outreach program has been created for Eau Claire County residents.
The “Simple Ways to get Ready for an Emergency” program is designed to help everyone identify three easy steps to become ready for any sort of emergency. These steps are Prepare, Plan, and Stay Informed.
Over the next few weeks and months the public may begin to see flyers, videos, and receive tips on how to perform the three steps. Additional outreach will be done on Facebook and Twitter by following Eau Claire County Emergency Management and #PrepareEauClaire.
The timing of this tool is critical as winter weather is identified as one of the biggest risks that Eau Claire County residents face due to an increased likelihood of power outages, carbon monoxide poisoning, impassable roads, and extreme temperatures.
This program was created in a joint effort between the Eau Claire City-County Health Department, ADRC, City of Eau Claire, Eau Claire County Emergency Management, and regional partners.
