ARCADIA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Arcadia was hit hard by flooding in 2017, and with all the snow melting now, the fear of more flooding is on the mind of city officials and homeowners there.

“The people and businesses in Arcadia know all about flooding. We want to be prepared for it," said City Administrator Bill Chang.

The Arcadia Police Department sent out a letter to residents with various warnings encouraging them to take precaution.

Chang says to remember to pay attention to weather reports and to any information from city emergency services.

“We do expect some minor flooding,” said Chang. “Make sure you clear your storm drains if you know where they are and have a way for water to run out.”

Officials say they aren't expecting a severe outcome, but say if flooding does happen, there are three things to remember: Obey evacuation orders, practice electrical safety, and avoid flood waters.

We're preparing for the worst, but we're hoping for the best and we want people to be ready,” said Chang.
